Word Unscrambler for board games

Our anagram solver is fast and accurate!

Games where you unscramble words have never been more popular. Both online word games and traditional board games are amazing ways to have fun and relax, but finding all the possible words available to you in a few seconds is literally impossible for most people. This is where a word unscrambler is extremely useful!

While human brains are incredible - there are millions of specific tasks that they’re just too slow to perform effectively, especially when you’re under pressure. For example, let’s say you’re presented with 4 letters, and you know there are 25 possible words you could create with those letters. On average, it’s going to take a person 10 seconds to think, decide if the combination is a word, and then play it - so that’s over 4 minutes of thinking and writing time to find all valid words for your word game (and that’s assuming you know all those words!)

Compare that to an unscramble word engine - ours will take all the scrambled letters and show you all the words possible in less than 1 second. If you use a calculator to add numbers - why not use a word finder to unscramble jumbled words?!

How to Unscramble Words

Our word unscrambler tool couldn’t be easier to use - think of it as a search engine for letters!

Simply enter the letters you have into the box above, then click to search. In no time at all, it will take you to a page that shows all the valid words that can be made from your letters.

The words will be listed in length order - so if you need a word that uses all the letters, they will be at the top of the list. The word finder will also form words that use just some of your entered letters too - you’ll just need to scroll down to view them.

That’s it! Scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see how many words have been created in total - you’re free to play any unscrambled words you wish in your jumbled letters game.

Including Blank Tiles (Wildcard Letters)

Some games, including Scrabble and Words with Friends, occasionally give you blank tiles. These are known as “wildcard” letters. Even though wildcards are useful when you’re playing - they make finding scrambled words a LOT harder on your brain.

Example

Let’s say you have the letters AOTB. You can make 17 words using those letters.

Now, let’s say you replace O and B with wildcards - so your word must contain O and B - but the other letters can be any you choose. How many words can you find?

We’ll save you the time - you can make an incredible 765 words with A and T and two blank tiles!

If finding each of those words takes just 10 seconds - you’ll still be unscrambling words after 2 full hours! And your opponent will almost certainly have found something better to do!

How to Play Wildcards

To play a wildcard, you simply have to enter a question mark (?) in our unscramble letters search. So, if you’ve got A, B, C, and two blank tiles - enter ABC??.

When you search, our word solver engine will find words that contain all the possible letters - then you’re free to play them in your word scramble game.

Is Using a Tool to Unscramble Words Cheating?

Is word unscrambler cheating? Well, it depends. If you’re playing a professional-level Scrabble tournament and you’re using a scrambled letters tool under the table - then yes, it probably is.

However, most people aren’t taking their games this seriously - so, in day-to-day, just-for-fun play - then no, there are no agreed rules, so you’re not breaking any!

Besides, think about these factors:

Your Word Game Opponent is Probably Using a Word Unscrambler

It’s not cheating if your opponent is doing it! In fact, then it’s called “leveling the playing field”!

Since 92% of online word game players admit to having used a word unscrambler to find letter combinations or the highest-scoring words, there’s a very strong chance you’re up against an opponent who’s using a word unscrambling tool, too.

You’ve Still Got to Place Your Valid Words

Most word games involve more than just finding words - you’ve usually got to place them carefully too.

So, even if you have hundreds of words to choose from, you could still lose the game if you don’t place them to maximize your score. A word unscrambler just gives you the words—there’s a lot of skill involved with placing them well!

You’re Probably Only Cheating Yourself

Many word games don’t involve an opponent - you’re just playing against yourself. As such, playing is just for fun - and cheating doesn’t affect anyone but you.

In fact, cheating can make games a lot more fun. Many games only give you a few chances to guess correctly before you have to wait to play again. This is where a lot of app developers make a LOT of money - giving you the option to pay to get hints, lives, or avoid waiting. Not everyone can afford to spend money on apps - so a word unscrambler makes the game more accessible.

Not Everyone’s English is Perfect

Should you be at a disadvantage because English isn’t your first language? We don’t think so - so our word unscrambler is here to help.

If you have the English language as your first and you’ve learned it throughout school, you’re likely to know around 20,000 to 35,000 words. If English isn’t your first language - you’ll likely only know 1,000 to 3,000 words, even if you can hold an English conversation.

A word unscrambler won’t just help you compete against people with more proficient English, it will help you expand your learning too.
